It’s hard not to notice society’s latest trend in taking the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge. Taking the challenge involves dumping ice cold water on your body to cause a temporary experience of ALS. By taking the challenge, you are able to nominate another person to take the challenge. Once nominated, you can either make a donation to ALS, take the challenge, or do both. Below you will see a video clip of Steven Spielberg doing the Ice Bucket Challenge.

Before you dump ice cold water on your head, you may want to know what ALS is. ALS  is an abbreviation for amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, also known as “Lou Gehrig’s Disease.” (The ALS Association, 2010). ALS is a neurodegenerative disease that degenerates cells in the brain and spinal cord. (The ALS Association, 2010). The constant degeneration eventually leads to the cell’s death which causes the brain to lose control of muscle movements; some victims even become fully paralyzed. (The ALS Association, 2010).

ALS is a growing concern with our veterans. As a result, the VA is encouraging all veterans with ALS who served at least ninety days in the military during a war time period to apply for their Aid and Attendance Pension. You can see for yourself if you click on the following link.

Completing the application to qualify for your VA pension is as simple as calling Dillman & Associates. Dillman & Associates has an experienced VA team that will help you get approved. Having Dillman & Associates complete your application is free of charge and will get you fast results. Call today for your free consultation.
